The process of designing a presentation with someone is intimate and unique. It looks different every time, but there are 3 main steps we'll work through.

Step 1:

The Information Dump

This is where I learn about you and your work. We'll figure out what the big idea is and what the goals of the presentation are.

My philosophy is "more is better" so the more stuff you share with me the easier my job will be. I'm not just making pretty slides for you, so I need to understand your content well enough to help you explain it clearly.

This process could take an hour or it could take several phone calls over the course of weeks. More like the latter if you're a rocket scientist or something.

Step 2:

Storyboarding and Structure

Once we have all of your content laid out on the table, so to speak, we will start the process of refining that content and developing a presentation structure.

This looks a lot like storyboarding, the process filmmakers use. We are building a story — with a beginning, end, some conflict, a climax, crescendos, etc.

Step 3:

Slide Design and Rehearsal

We'll chat about whether slides are even necessary for your presentation. Sometimes, the story works better without them.

But often slides can lift up and bring clarity to your message. I will design a slide deck that matches up with your content bit by bit. The best slides are like wallpaper — the audience will look at them but still hang on your every word.

We'll also rehearse together a few times. I will listen and give feedback and make adjustments to slides as necessary. This part of the process is really a beautiful way for us to see if your idea is resonating in the most powerful way possible.
